The interdisciplinary and interdepartmental Nano4Med Research Group established in 2025 consists of high-class scientists, researchers, specialists and experts of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences, Poland, with interdisciplinary competencies representing three faculties, nine departments and two interdepartmental units. It is a Multilevel Research Group on New Nanomaterials for Biomedical Applications (Nano4Med).

The group is led by Professor Małgorzata Kujawska, PhD, DSc, an expert in toxicology and nanoneuroscience, specializing in synucleinopathies and the potential of nanomaterials in managing these pathologies. She has experience in European research initiatives and EU grant evaluation, shaping advancements in nanotechnology-driven innovations and nanotoxicology. The senior role was taken by Professor Ewa Florek, PhD, DSc - pharmacist and toxicologist, member of the International Head Neck Scientific Group. Polish coordinator of 11 European Union projects. Expert of working group within the regulatory committees of the European Union; expert of International External Expert Teams and COST - European Cooperation in Science and Technology in nanotechnology and biomaterials. Specializes in nanotoxicological research in experimental models of nanomaterials for medical applications. Both are European Registered Toxicologists (ERT). 

The members of Nano4Med include pharmacists, physicians, biologists, chemists, and biotechnologists at all stages of their careers – from doctoral students and early-career researchers to experienced scientists and professors. 

Nano4Med approaches its work with real energy and passion, bringing vital experience to all operations. The Nano4Med Group explores advanced nanomaterials through basic and application-oriented research and serves as a platform for implementing interdisciplinary scientific projects that contribute to the development of innovative biomedical technologies.
